Aaron Bare, the Herozona Foundation co-founder, speaks about how military veterans work well with the HeroZona Foundation. In short, they understand the organization.

“The veterans that we work with and have worked with in the past, they understand how the organization works,” says Bare. “They understand how to make decisions. They understand how to move things forward. They understand projects. If everything’s in a project in the world that I live in, you take a veteran and you move them into a system that very much has rules. Here’s what you need to do to accomplish those goals, and once you accomplish them, then you go to the next stage. Veterans succeed very well on that.”

Aaron:  [16:09] Statistically, veterans are twice as likely to be successful in entrepreneurship. The fact is, when I look at the veterans that we work with and have worked with in the past, they understand how organization works.

[16:24] They understand how to make decisions. They understand how to move things forward. They understand projects. If everything’s in a project in the world that I live in, you take a veteran and you move them into a system that very much has rules. Here’s what you need to do to accomplish those goals, and once you accomplish them, then you go to the next stage.[16:43] Veterans succeed very well on that. That’s where, candidly as you look at, veteran companies also hire lots of veterans, which then drives veteran employment and drives veteran success. The HeroZona Foundation, one of the goals of that is — I’m a co-founder of that — to help in entrepreneurship. Is how do we actually help veterans find their idea and moving that.[17:08] We’ve even partnered with the International Franchise Association. They have a veteran area where we have over 600 opportunities of franchises, that we have special opportunities through our accelerator that we can put these entrepreneurs in the franchises with discounted and/or free basically opportunities to move into the franchise system.

David:  [17:30] That’s a big deal. We’ve got to tell veterans where to find that here at the end of the show.
